Changelog

New features, improvements and fixes in Skimatly

  1. October 9, 2026Improved

Your first Build starts much faster

We reworked how a new chat gets ready, so Skimatly starts working on your first Build message much sooner.

    • The time before the AI starts working on your first Build message dropped from about 45 seconds to under a second on our servers.
    • Skimatly now gets your chat ready while you type, so pressing Send starts the work right away.
    • Sending a message no longer waits for your chat history to load, which saves about 2 seconds on the first message.
    • Fewer slowdowns when several people are building at the same time.
  2. October 9, 2026Fixed

Instant chat delete and rename, no more paste freezes

The chat box and History list feel much faster, especially with large pastes.

    • Pasting very large text, such as a long log, no longer freezes the page. A paste of about 875,000 characters now appears in under a second instead of locking the page for over a minute.
    • Line breaks in pasted text now stay visible in the message box.
    • Deleting or renaming a chat in History now updates instantly.
    • Fixed an issue where the chat you were in, or a chat you had just started, could not be deleted.
    • Fixed an issue where renaming a new chat could revert to its old title.
  3. October 8, 2026Improved

    More reliable runs

Builds recover from brief hiccups on their own, and your credit balance stays up to date.

    • If the AI briefly returns an empty response, Skimatly now retries up to three times with a short pause instead of stopping your Build.
    • Credit resets now show up in your balance right away, even when a Build was running at the moment of the reset.
  4. October 7, 2026New

Cleaner wiring with joint wire attachment

Connections to a net that already has a wire now join that wire instead of piling up on the pin.

    • When a pin already has a wire on its net, Skimatly taps into the existing wire with a junction instead of stacking a second wire on the pin.
    • If no clean wire route is found, the connection is kept with a net label, so no connection is lost.
    • Joint wire attachment is now on for every design.
  5. October 7, 2026Fixed

Hidden pins handled correctly, including in KiCad export

Duplicate hidden pins from KiCad library symbols no longer get in the way of your design.

    • Hidden pins that KiCad stacks under a visible pin, such as the extra GND pins on the ATmega328P, are no longer drawn on top of the visible pin or selectable on the canvas.
    • Hidden no-connect pins are treated the same way.
    • The AI agents no longer try to wire these duplicate pins separately, which removes a common cause of failed wire routes.
    • KiCad export still includes every pin and marks these pins as hidden, matching the original library symbol.
  6. October 7, 2026Fixed

    Symbol orientation and placement fixes

Symbol flips and rotations chosen during layout now take effect, and layout problems no longer stop a Build.

    • Flips and rotations chosen while organizing symbols now actually apply. Previously, pin positions could be misread, so symbols kept their original orientation.
    • Flipping a symmetric part, such as a vertical resistor, no longer fails the layout step.
    • If symbol organizing cannot improve a layout, your Build now continues to wiring instead of stopping.
  7. October 4, 2026Fixed

Clear prompts when you run out of credits

Running out of credits now shows a clear next step instead of a confusing error.

    • On the Free plan, running out of credits now shows a clear message with an Upgrade to Pro button instead of a misleading "model unavailable" error.
    • On Pro, you see when your credits reset and a Manage subscription button.
    • A Build that runs out of credits now stops cleanly instead of reconnecting over and over.
    • When an AI step fails after its retries, the error message now explains more precisely what went wrong.
  8. October 4, 2026Fixed

Your projects are saved, even as a guest

Projects are saved as soon as you create them, whether or not you are signed in.

    • Projects you create without signing in are now saved in your browser and move into your account when you sign in.
    • New projects are saved right after you create them, before any edits, so quickly creating and switching projects no longer loses one.
    • If a save fails, you now see a warning and your changes stay marked as unsaved.
    • Added a Sign in link to the Welcome screen.
  9. October 2, 2026Fixed

    New chats start reliably

Fixed an issue that could make new chats fail to start.

    • Fixed an issue that could make new chats fail to start, or make a Build request look like a network problem.
